This week, Tim has really upset Ian as he has used AI to create an episode of your favourite automotive podcast, A Pint of Petrol.
Heads up... the AI bit is borderline listenable, Ian has been turned into an American woman and it's so artificial it hurts BUT if you listen to the content, it's created a very good, structured exchange between two imaginary people.
It's worth hanging on in there... as at about 10 min in, Ian finally snaps. He is so angry about this...

This week, the boys aren't "pubcasting", they're down the coffee shop catching up after an eventful NEC Restoration Show. Ian spent most of it in the pub, but Tim made a few videos that went viral... sort of.
Ian has also rescued a Land Rover Discovery 2 from a field, and promptly set to ruining what was left of the paint at the local jet wash.
And BIG NEWS! The company that wouldn't hire you if your car was over 10 years old? Well, after the story made headlines, they've back tracked!
Put the kettle on, this one's a good 'un...

This week, news has emerged of a company refusing to even shortlist a candidate because her car was more than 10 years old... and ask you can imagine, the boys have quite a lot to say about this. It even made Tim get his bleep button out! Oh-er!
The boys also discuss Ian's latest four wheel (drive) acquisition... a mouldy old Disco 2. AND Tim's epic Vauxhall celebration, VauxALL, is coming back to the museum.
All this and more in one of the best episodes of a Pint of Petrol ever. The banter is good in this one!

This week, the boys are discussing something of a sismic shift in the way we buy cars... and not how we finance them, no, how we actually choose and spec them.
Go to any legacy brand and you get the same experience... several models with several engines, several trims with several colours and then countless options on top of that.
New challenger brands have made it simpler, much simpler. One or two engine choices, two trim levels, six colours and no options.
So what does that mean for new buyers now and the second hand market in years to come... time for a coffee.

This week, the boys back in the pub and Ian is really rather cross about something... and he has good reason to be, too.
The latest trend of fixing cars on YouTube looks harmless. However, peel away the shiny new coat of paint, and there is a world of problems. Worse still, it is totally unregulated. So what can be done about idiots with cameras fixing broken cars badly?
That's exactly what we are going to discuss now...

SPECIAL! ONE YEAR OF A PINT OF PETROL! 🍻
Sunday Mar 01, 2026
Sunday Mar 01, 2026
This week's episode is a special edition of A Pint of Petrol... to celebrate ONE WHOLE YEAR OF A PINT OF PETROL!
That's right, the boys have been going to the pub, waffling on about cars and bikes, whilst quaffing pints an entire year.
In that time, they've been to the pub, coffee shops, car shows, car and coffee meets, RC car racing, airfields and so much more. So what is the favourite episode? And just how many hours of PoP are out there.
If you've just discovered Pint of Petrol, this is a great place to start before you binge the rest!
🍻 Cheers to everyone who has supported us this far, here's to many more episodes of automotive oddities!

This week's episode is a special edition of A Pint of Petrol... to celebrate the day of love (pass the bucket), Tim's wife has been given several automotive questions about him... but Tim has no idea what she has answered or said about him.
Much to Ian's delight.
Sit back as this is a good one... back at the pub, talking Harlequin VWs, end parking spaces, Radio 4, Land Rover Monthly and many other automotive things, all with a beer in hand.
Marvellous.

Episode 39: RC Car Racing - Just toy cars or is it proper racing?
Sunday Feb 08, 2026
Sunday Feb 08, 2026
This week, the boys aren't at the pub (again)... instead, they are visiting one of the largest indoor RC car racing events in the UK... the 2026 MKGP.
This isn't a bunch of blokes playing with toys, either. Oh no, the British Off Road Grand Prix brings 430 competitors from all over the world for three days of high speed, highly competitive racing right in the centre of the MK:Centre.
So, what do the boys make of these 1/10 scale electric off-road RC buggies, truggies and trucks? Well both have raced in their youth, so enjoy this special trip down memory lane.

This week, the boys aren't drinking beer... they're not even in the pub! But, don't worry, they are still talking cars. In fact, this week, they are talking about one very important car... the iconic Land Rover Defender.
It's now been an entire decade since the very last Defender - classic style anyway - rolled off the production line. Today, it remains as popular as ever and is still a recognisable icon to this very day. So, what stories do the boys have on this global legend?
Grab your coffee, as we are about to find out.

This week, the boys are in a different pub but don't worry, thats the only change...
In this episode, Tim has gone all giddy for the World Rally Championship with WRC Monte Carlo. Ian's Land Rover is back on the road (at last).
There is also worrying - or annoying - news that some Tesla drivers are NOT being fined for speeding AND a host of cars have pick up awards at the annual WhatCar? awards. Oh and there is a new Bugatti, too, the one-off FKP.
All this and more - including a rather naughty confession from Ian - is in this episode of A Pint of Petrol.
